Pete Holland holds a BA in English from St. Edward's
University in Austin, Texas, where for two of his four
undergraduate years he was head of the Photography Staff
of the University. He spent the following years in
retail, learning about hardware and photography
technique. In 1981, after leaving his 7 year position as
sales manager at Capitol Camera in Austin, Pete opened
Holland Photo, specializing in direct prints from
slides. The business grew so that by 1985 he had over 20
employees with a reputation for processing and printing
in all film formats for the professional, commercial,
and advanced amateur markets. In 2005 Pete was elected
Vice President of the South Central chapter of the Photo
Marketing Association International.
Over the
years, Pete taught seminars on Digital Photography for
SAGE and QUEST for the University of Texas, and for the
Lifetime Learning Institute and the City of Austin Parks
and Recreation Department.
In 2006
Pete sold Holland Photo after 25 years of business to
become a photographic consultant and photographer. |
